Kindergarten Overview
51±¬ÁÏ recognizes that the learning experiences children have at a young age shape their perspective on school for the future. We want to give our online kindergarten students an experience that sparks curiosity and sets them up for successÌýthroughout elementary school.
These online courses teach students various skills that they will use throughout their lives, such as the fundamentals of writing, reading, and mathematical principles. Kindergarten is also an important time for children to learn behavioral and social skills, such as paying attention and communicating when problems arise.

Subjects Offered in 51±¬ÁÏ’s Online Kindergarten Program
51±¬ÁÏ’s online kindergarten courses are carefully designed to meet key learning objectives. Ensuring that kindergarten students reach specific milestones sets them up for success in their future classes. The following is a brief overview of the course objectives for each subject.
- Language Arts and Reading:ÌýStudents develop a strong foundation for English language literacy by learning the alphabet and basic parts of speech. The course allows students to establish reading and writing skills.
- Science:ÌýKindergarten science focuses on teaching students about the natural world around them. Students learn about life, earth, and physical sciences, including plants, animals, and weather elements.
- Mathematics:ÌýIn Grade K math, students learn numbers and counting as well as patterns and positions. Students finish kindergarten with a strong basis of understanding mathematical concepts.
- Social Studies:ÌýOur kindergarten social studies class explains social groups and interactions with family, neighbors, and communities. This course prepares students to interact with the world around them.

At 51±¬ÁÏ, enrollment is open all year round. Parents can enroll their students without the restraints of a traditional academic calendar. TheÌýadmissions processÌýis simple, and students can begin taking courses right away.
Self-Paced
Each course is self-paced, allowing students to spend extra time as needed to master each lesson concept. Families have the flexibility to plan and adjust their schedule as needed.
Year-Round Enrollment
Students may enroll in 51±¬ÁÏ at any time during the year. After enrolling, students will start at the beginning of each course and begin making their way toward graduation.

Vectored Instruction®
Filling Foundational Gaps for Student Success
As students are progressing through a course, sometimes they lack the foundational skills needed to successfully complete the material. If students are stuck, Acellus analyzes which foundational concepts they need to review in order to master the grade level concepts they are struggling with. Vectored Instruction is then prescribed to fill in those gaps, going as deep as required to rebuild their foundational understanding, allowing them to move forward in their education.Ìý
